Answered began as a legal self-help product inside ellaSiD LLC. It now has its own dedicated website at answeredlaw.com, where people who have been sued for consumer debt can create an Answer Packet, check their response deadline, and organize the next steps before default.
The product was built after ellaSiD founder John DiSalle represented himself in Eau Claire County Small Claims Court in a consumer debt collection case. The case, Plaza Services LLC v. DiSalle, was dismissed on April 9, 2026. That experience made the problem very clear: when people are served with debt lawsuit papers, they often need practical self-help tools before they need anything else.
What Answered does
Answered is web-based self-help software for pro se defendants in consumer debt collection lawsuits. The product focuses on the urgent first steps after someone is served:
- Understanding the general response deadline for their state.
- Creating a self-help Answer Packet where supported.
- Reviewing plaintiff-specific information for common debt buyers.
- Organizing filing steps, next deadlines, and possible defense issues.
Answered currently publishes state guides, debt buyer guides, a debt lawsuit deadline checker, and a paid Answer Packet workflow.
Why the separate domain matters
AnsweredLaw.com gives the product a focused home for legal self-help content, product pages, support pages, disclaimers, and founder transparency. It also keeps the ellaSiD LLC site focused on the company and its broader software portfolio.
Important legal disclaimer
Answered is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not represent users in court. It is self-help software for people representing themselves. Users should verify deadlines and filing requirements with their court papers, local court rules, and the court clerk when needed.
